Kim O’Connell-Brock is a 1994 graduate of the Athletic Training Program at New Mexico State University. She became nationally certified in 1994 and completed a Masters degree in Athletic Training at California University of Pennsylvania in 1995. Kim has served as an athletic trainer for high schools in both New Mexico and Pennsylvania. Before coming to New Mexico State University in September of 2002, she had been employed in Outpatient Sports Medicine Rehabilitation since 1996. During this time, Kim specialized in hand therapy, ergonomic assessments, functional assessments and sports rehabilitation for high school and college athletes. Kim has been a part time instructor with Dona Anna Branch Community College in the Health Occupations department since 1999, and a curriculum instructor for NMSU since 1999. She served as Vice Chair for the New Mexico Athletic Trainers Practice board from 1998 to 2003. Kim has been active in the New Mexico Athletic Trainers Association as well as an active member of regional and national organizations since 1992, and is currently the Student Advisor to the Rocky Mountain Student Athletic Trainers Association.
