Shon Meyer has served the NMSU community for the previous eight years while holding the position of Assist. Director of Fitness & Wellness. As a newly appointed faculty member, Meyer now instructs Kinesiology and Exercise Physiology-based courses for the Dept. of HPDR. He is actively involved with internationally recognized organizations within the field of Exercise Science such as the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), through which he has earned multiple credentials. Further highlighting his involvement within the realm of human performance and conditioning practices, Meyer currently serves on the State Advisory Board for the NSCA. His primary educational and instructional interests focus upon physiological adaptation, strength and conditioning program design, general exercise prescription and application, human performance assessment and testing, and longevity promotion through proper health/wellness practices. Meyer has received a Master of Science degree in Sport & Recreation Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology, both from the University of Idaho.
