The goal of the Laboritorio de Biomechanica at NMSU is to understand human movement in an effort to reduce the likelihood of injury, enhance performance, improve and extend quality of life.
Research is focused within three primary objective areas. These areas include:
- Understanding injury in young athletic populations
- Improving our understanding of body segment parameters as they relate to human movement
- Identifying musculoskeletal issues through both established and novel imaging techniques
Biomechanical investigations conducted by the NMSU Laboratorio de Biomechanicsa are conducted through analyzing the movements of voluntary participants. All identifying information is removed from each scientific journal and presentation submission. Contact information for prospective participants can be found within the Current Research and Student Research portions of the website.
