Biography

Dr. Katie Hodgin is a College Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Dance and serves as the Kinesiology Program Coordinator for NMSU Global Campus. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado, a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree focused on exercise science, and MS and PhD degrees in Applied Social and Health Psychology from Colorado State University. Dr. Hodgin’s research focuses on physical activity promotion in communities like schools and office-based worksites. In addition to completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Northern Colorado, Dr. Hodgin worked as a subject matter expert for a national non-profit organization, creating resources that support health and active lifestyles. Dr. Hodgin enjoys teaching NMSU courses like Introduction to Kinesiology, Health and Exercise Psychology, and Psychology of Coaching in Sport, as well as spending time with her family, dancing, and supporting NMSU and Colorado sports teams.
