Biography

Shon Meyer has served the NMSU community for many years and currently instructs numerous Human Performance- and Exercise Science-based courses for the Dept. of Kinesiology. 

 Meyer is actively involved with internationally recognized agencies within the field of Exercise Science such as the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), through which he has earned multiple credentials. Further highlighting his involvement within the realm of human performance and conditioning practices, Meyer currently serves on the State Advisory Board for the NSCA. His primary academic and research interests focus upon physiological adaptation to high-intensity strength and conditioning techniques, strength and conditioning program design and development, general exercise prescription and application, human performance assessment and testing, and longevity promotion through proper health and wellness practices. In addition to receiving a Master of Science degree in Sport & Recreation Administration (University of Idaho) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology (University of Idaho), Meyer is currently progressing through the Dept. of Kinesiology’s doctoral program.
