Mission

NMSU’s Athletic Training Program (ATP) is committed to providing an exceptional athletic training education through a comprehensive curriculum and quality clinical experiences which will prepare students for professional practice in athletic training. The ATP seeks to embrace a diverse student population and provide an avenue towards social mobility in the profession of athletic training, preparing students to become competent, independent clinicians who will enhance the quality of patient health care and advance the profession of athletic training through the application of evidence-based practice and translational research.  Upon completion of the MSAT degree, students will be eligible for the Board of Certification (BOC) examination which leads to the nationally recognized ATC credential.
