Outreach Activities

Raquel Aranda is a college assistant professor for the Physical Education Program, in the Department of Human Performance, Recreation and Dance. Raquel holds a bachelor’s degree in foreign languages with an emphasis in Spanish; a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Physical Education both from New Mexico State University. Previously she taught elementary physical education at the J. Paul Taylor Academy in Las Cruces, NM. She enjoys helping her students by sharing her experiences as a physical educator. She works closely with Dr. Kim Oliver to help pre-service teachers within the Physical Education Program to become student-centered. One of her goals is to promote developmentally appropriate physical education within the program and also in the community.
