Biography

Ann has a Master of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Dance from NMSU and a Bachelor of Social Work from North Texas State University. She has been on the New Mexico State University dance faculty since 2000. Ann is currently the Director of Dance and NMSU’s Contemporary Dance Theater. She co-directs the Methods In Learning Kinesthetically (MILK) project in Fairacres Elementary School and MILK fieldtrips in area elementary schools.

Ann has served as the director of the Pan American Dance Institute of NMSU for 4 years, organizing the annual Danzas Sin Fronteras workshops and concerts as well as the NMSU summer dance workshops. She was the artistic director of Ballet du Coeur of El Paso for 8 years and the associate director of Barbara Driscoll School of Ballet for 20 years. Ann was formerly a principal dancer with International Dance Theatre of El Paso, Texas and a principle dancer with the Denton Civic Ballet in Denton, Texas.

Her teaching experience includes working with students in public schools, in dance studios, and community ministry dance programs. She has trained professional dancers and aspiring professional dancers at all levels.
